The house
The Roque Terrace is a wonderful cosy gite for 2 people with magnificent views across the valley to La Roque Saint Christophe which is floodlit at night.
The living room is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Here you have a sofa and armchair, dining table and chairs, and TV with French, German, Dutch and English channels. The kitchen area has everything you need for making a delicious meal. An electric fan oven, gas hob, fridge (access to freezer), pots, pans and crockery - "home away from home".
The bedroom has a comfortable bed which can be either two single beds or one large king size bed which means the space is good for friends and family to share, or perfect for a romantic getaway. The bathroom is a large wet-room style shower room with shower, toilet and washbasin.

We spent a glorious two weeks in La Roque Terrasse in September 2019 which is very comfortable and has lovely views of La Roque St. Christophe. Philippa and Paul are great hosts and do everything they can to make sure their guests enjoy their stay. There is so much to do within a short travelling distance that it is easy to find lots of places to visit over two weeks or longer. This was our second visit and we would love to return.

We've just returned from a wonderful week staying in La Roque Terrasse.The gite was perfect for us and we loved the outlook towards Roc Christophe. Paul and Philipa couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We had marvellous weather and being able to bbq in the evenings and relax on our terrace was just what we had hoped for. Will definitely plan a return trip.
Restaurants, food & wine
Apart from the local restaurant, there are several others to choose from in St Leon sur Vezere, Tursac, Thonac, Montignac, Fleurac, Les Eyzies - you will be spoilt for choice!
The nearest wine region is Bergerac where you will find lots of vineyards but the Duras and Bordeaux areas are not much further.
Activities
There is so much to see and do in our area. Walking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing are all very popular but the main attraction is the history and pre-history.
The Lascaux 4 caves in Montignac, Grotte de Rouffignac in Rouffignac, Grottes de Font de Gaume in Les Eyzies are all major attractions and all are worth a visit.
Sarlat is just 30 minutes drive and is a wonderful French market town with architecture and history. The Dordogne river is also 30 minutes drive where you will find chateaux, charming villages and canoeing.

Additional price info and offers
In summer we have a minimum stay of 7 nights, with arrival and departure on Saturdays. Arrival and departure days are more flexible the rest of the year, you can arrive and depart on any day. Minimum of 1 night in low season, and 2 nights in mid season.
All bed linen, bathroom towels and kitchen tea towels are provided. Pool towels are available on request. Baby cots and highchairs are available free of charge. During winter months we can provide you with wood for the fireplace.
