Gites guarantee

Your payments to Gites are guaranteed. What exactly does that mean?

The guarantee applies to all bookings that are handled by Gites and for which the payments have been made through Gites.
We have taken the following measures to ensure that your payments are secure:

All payments you make are deposited into a merchant account the Online Payment Platform, which is supervised by the DNB, the Dutch Central Bank. These amounts are sceduled to be released to the landlord on the day after your arrival at the holiday residence. Should you not be able to access the rented property, please contact Gites directly. We will then assist you and refund if necessary.

Advertisers are monitored for the following:

  • The landlord's identity.
  • The landlord's bank account.
  • The contact details of the landlord.

The French government classifies:

Houses can be classified as "Meublé de Tourisme". An inspection of the house is then carried out by the French government. The house is awarded stars for the level of amenities. If a house is classified, it will be shown on the ad.

Naturally, Gites checks advertisements upon registration and in most cases has direct contact with the landlords.

The Gites guarantee is also included in the General Terms and Conditions:
