The house
Our comfortable holiday home La Françonne - rosé, facing south-west, has a private garden and terrace with lovely views of the village of Mirabel aux Baronnies.
Inside is a living area with dining and sitting area and, separated by a decorative curtain, a double bed. Also a bedroom with bunk beds. The beds are all 2 metres long and have separate mattresses and duvets. On request, we can add a baby bed and chair free of charge.
There is also a spacious wardrobe.
The kitchen is solid and modern, with fridge + freezer, microwave, oven, pots and pans, coffee machine and kettle.
Free wifi offers the possibility to receive Dutch TV channels via internet.
Outside on the terrace there is a dining table with 4 chairs and sun loungers.
A washing machine, hoover and barbecue are available.
This holiday home is very suitable for families (max. 2 children) or couples.
As shown in the photos, the furnishings are modern, functional and solid. The fenced swimming pool is nearby and is heated in spring and autumn.

The terrain and surroundings are hilly. You can enjoy relaxing walks in the area. Every wind direction you follow is a new experience and you always enjoy very beautiful views.
In the southern Drôme, often called Provence, you will mainly find vineyards, olive and fruit orchards and forests. And also beautiful rivers, such as the Toulourenc, the Ouvèze and the Eygues.
Near Mirabel you will find many pretty towns, such as Vaison la Romaine, Nyons, Avignon, Nîmes, Orange and Arles.
Romantic Provencal villages abound, such as Séguret, Sablet, la Garde Adhémar, Puyméras and Montbrun les Bains.
You can visit castles in Suze la Rousse, Grignan and Aulan.
The main attraction of the area is the Mont Ventoux, which you can climb by car, on foot and of course by bike.
Surprisingly, you can watch vultures in St May/Remuzat. In the area, we often spot roe deer, foxes, hares, badgers, etc.
Large supermarkets are in the vicinity, which are also open on Sunday mornings. There are also so-called Drive possibilities: you order your groceries in advance via internet (for the same price as in the supermarket) and can pick them up at the Drive. If you prefer to do that in consultation with us, that's possible too.
In the village itself you will find bakeries, a butcher, self-service shop, bistros, a pizzeria, a pharmacy, doctors (one of which is Flemish) and hairdressers.
For children, there are ample playgrounds, a tennis court in the village, fascinating museums (Haribo's candy museum) and exhibitions and, last but not least, the crocodile farm.
Your gîte is about 500m from the village of Mirabel aux Baronnies, where many amenities (bakeries and other shops) can be found.
La Françonne is a very quiet domain, with nearby also unusual birds (bee-eaters, hoopoes, orioles, nightingales) and plants.

For enthusiasts, there are ample opportunities for hiking, cycling, VTT, climbing, swimming (river, lake, Mediterranean sea, heated pool on our property), jogging and even paragliding. City lovers will find what they are looking for in the beautiful towns of Avignon, Nîmes, Lyon, Séguret, Gigondas and Carpentras.
Those interested in art and culture will find interesting museums and exhibitions. There are many art galleries in Aix en Provence, Vaison-la-Romaine and Nyons.
Nature lovers are in their element, as hiking in the highly varied countryside offers ever new vistas.
Event-goers can attend concerts and music evenings in the beautiful Château de Grignan, the theatre festival d'Avignon or the prestigious music festivals Chorégies in Orange, the festival des Choeurs Lauréats, the Moments musicaux de Cacharel or the festival du piano in La Roque d'Anthéron.
Tourists love the caves in the nearby Ardèche and the many attractions nearby, such as the crocodile farm in Pierrelatte.
For children (and parents), it teems with castles and fortresses, Roman excavations with or without guided tours, playgrounds and beautifully landscaped outdoor pools with slides.
Shoppers will find shopping in Avignon itself to be the ultimate, where there are many boutiques as well as the huge shopping centres around the city.
Culinary gourmets will of course find delicious food at restaurants in the area, nearby in a town or at a restaurateur-winer. Not to mention all sorts of deliciously fresh and excellent-tasting vegetables, fish, fruit and cheese at the local, Provencal markets.
For the little ones, there is the Haribo candy museum. For them, there is plenty of play area around the cottages where they won't bother anyone and can enjoy themselves. They can also clamber endlessly on the saffron hills. A visit to the lavender oil distillery in July is fun and educational.

Further remarks
Gîtes la Françonne is situated on a private estate and has 3 semi-detached gîtes with swimming pool, with a lot of privacy for each gîte by spacious planting, a private terrace and location on south-west or south-east, with height differences. If you have difficulty walking, it is nice to contact us about this in advance. We can then discuss the possibilities together. After all, your holiday pleasure is our priority.
In the grounds is the safely fenced swimming pool, about 30 metres from the gîtes.
This accommodation is very suitable for couples and families with 1 or 2 children.

The deposit is paid on arrival, on the spot. You will get the deposit, if there are no problems after departure, refunded to your account within a week.
