Bastide de Peymeyan

La Bastide de Peymeyan is a beautiful authentic country house in natural stone that was recently rebuilt from ruin to perfectly finished architectural dwelling. The exterior facade was retained but the interior layout was completely revised. A modern touch with design accents completes the story. The bastide can accommodate groups or families of up to 10 people.

La Bastide de Peymeyan has a garden of 8000 m2 with a large area of grass, where children can play, and around it many trees that provide the necessary shade. The garden is partially fenced and accessible via an electric gate. A long driveway takes you up to the beautifully renovated bastide where there is plenty of parking space for the covered pitches (which are still being finished and therefore not accessible for use). The garden is mainly on the other side of the driveway. A terrace is provided in the shade of the trees. Here there is a large dining table for the entire party and a gas BBQ. Additional garden furniture has been provided, including 8 wooden loungers around the pool, a good parasol and a lounge area on the lawn. The pool is beautifully finished with mosaic tiles of 5 by 5 cm, in shades of azure and measures a whopping 15 metres by 4 metres wide. There is a shallow plage on the side of the gazebo and 4 wide steps for smooth entry and exit on the other side. The depth is 1m40 along its entire length.

The impressive bastide brings out the charm of Provence, raised in natural stone, with bright blue shutters at the front and green shutters at the pool and garden side. In front, there is a terrace to cosily take your breakfast under the wisteria.

An authentic door takes you into a central room where there is a babyfoot, next to a fireplace. The central space connects to the open-plan living area, divided over several levels, connected by stairs and a metal structure in the middle. On the left, you will find a large wooden dining table with several designer chairs around it. The height of the space allows for plenty of light and connects to the garden through large windows. To the right is the open seating area where you can relax with a good book. A few more steps up there is then a large room with a TV corner and library and a pool table. Entertainment all around!

Going back to the dining area, there is a connection to the kitchen, located a bit lower here. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the luxuries and necessities. There is an induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, wine cooler, 2 different Nespresso coffee machines and all kinds of small kitchen utensils. Here you will be happy to bring out your best cooking talents.

From the kitchen you can then continue back, with on the left a separate toilet and cupboard area with the washing machine, to the central area of the front (with babyfoot). To its right is a first bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed and closet space against a wall from which the large stones are visible. Such details keep the house authentic inside as well. To the left and right of the bed there is a washbasin/shower on the one hand and a toilet on the other, both with a sliding door. French doors give access to a small side terrace with a set of furniture. Here you might like to take a coffee by yourself in the morning.

The next 2 bedrooms are located to the left and right of the room with pool table, on the first floor. Both rooms have a double bed and an annex bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. One of the rooms also has a baby bed and a changing table.

We then take the open metal staircase upstairs. A small landing gives access to 2 more double bedrooms, each with their annex bathroom. The room on the left has a freestanding bath in the bedroom and a double sink. The door leads to a separate toilet. The room on the right, with beautiful views of the garden and pool, has an azure carpet, the colour of which continues into the bathroom. Here is the bathroom with toilet, double sinks and large walk-in shower in black natural stone. A second door in the bedroom gives access to the dressing room in the ridge of the roof. Both rooms upstairs are very spacious and give a sort of suite feel.

There is no air conditioning in the house but this type of house, with walls half a metre wide, was built to keep out the heat in summer.

The interior staircases make the house less suitable for people with mobility problems.
