The house
There is an open plan kitchen, diner, living room downstairs with a shower room.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one has 1 x kingsize bed with an en-suite containing a toilet and wash basin.
The next room has 3 x single beds and also has an en-suite containing a toilet and wash basin. There is an option to add an additional single bed if required.
Immediately outside of the gite it is fenced for additional privacy. In this area is the jacuzzi, seating and dining area and a BBQ.
In the walled garden there is the opportunity to use the hammock, further seating and table and there is a table tennis table.
The swimming pool is available for gite guests.
We offer table D'Hotes for 27,50 euros per person and 15 euros for children below 12 years old. We also offer a BBQ option, hosted by Julie and Andy and we can provide a continental breakfast, prices are available on request and we would require 24 hours notice.

Hautes Pyrénées is part of the relatively undiscovered and tranquil south west of France also known as Gascony. The small village of Vidou is situated just 3.5 km from the 13th century bastide market town of Trie sur Baïse, A market takes place every Tuesday. There are varied events including classical music concerts in the 13th century monastery, and a week long fête in August, with a range of entertainment. The surrounding countryside offers spectacular scenery, walking, cycling, horse riding.
We are close to Mariac that has a 3 week jazz festival which commences the last week in July which is extremely popular.
There is also a 3 day country and western festival in Mirande every July.
Trie-Sur-Baise for a week in August celebrates life, with outdoor music, activities, al-fresco dining and markets.

Moving upwards and crossing the ridge, Saint-Lary 2400, or the "Vallon du Portet" is a true jewel of the skiing world. At an altitude above 2000m, it offers a wide range of pistes, an extraordinary 360° view of the Pyrenees and lots of sunshine. Here we are at the border of the National Park and near Lake Oules. There are mountain restaurants accessible to non-skiers, snow sports zones such as the "De Le Rue's Line" and the Snowpark with a cross-country ski track 3 km long.
Restaurants, food & wine
There are numerous restaurants within a 30 minute drive. There are 4 within a 5 minute drive. Typically French, Italian and Chinese. We do offer Table D'Hotes in our home and details are available on request.
Wine is plentiful, whether from a vineyard, a local outdoor market, with markets taking place every day of the week, a local cave or a shop. The area offers two famous vineyards, Saint-Mont and Madiran.
Activities
We are within an hour to the border of Spain and 45 minute drive to the nearest ski station.
We have excellent cycling routes all around which the Tour de France took 2018 from our town and from Castelnau Magnaoc in July 2022.
There are excellent fishing facilities for fly and coarse. There are 5 lakes all close by with beautiful views of the mountains.

Additional price info and offers
Bed linen and towels are provided at a cost of 12 euros per person.
Alternatively, guests can bring their own towels and bed linen.
50% deposit is required when stay is booked, plus 250 euros a refundable security deposit as damage insurance, which is returned once the property has been checked and if returned in same condition. The cleaning fee of 40 euros is deducted from the security deposit.
If you require the spa during your stay, because of electricity costs, any stay of 3 days or more, 50 euros is payable on arrival in euros. Stays beyond a week, 100 euros is payable on arrival in euros.
Outstanding balance is due 30 days before arrival.
Payments can either be in cash or bank transfer. French or English cheques are only accepted with proof of I.D. and must be cleared before booking commences.
If the booking is cancelled within 28 days of the arrival date, 10% of the deposit is refunded. If the booking is cancelled more than 28 days before the arrival date, 30% of the deposit is refunded.
On the day of departure, the departure time is by 1030 at the latest. If you do not leave by the check out time, a full day's rental will be taken from your security deposit.
