The house
La Loge is the gatehouse of Chateau Mondou and was built in 1801. La Loge is one of the three gites of Chateau Mondou and can be rented independently, or in combination with the other two gites. Check also our other ads. The house looks a bit like a hacienda and is located with a covered terrace on the cour (courtyard) of the Chateau.
The living room with open kitchen has lots of light and is really special with its high ridge of 5 metres and impressive beams. It has a sliding door with direct access to the garden. You can eat and relax outside on the terrace in front of the door or on the large balcony with beautiful views of the countryside and the setting sun that is breathtaking every evening.
La Loge has a mezzanine bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two comfortable single beds and a bedroom with a bunk bed. All beds are new. There is a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. Special art hangs all over the house. You can use the gardens and outdoor areas of the Chateau with the swimming pool. The outdoor area has a BBQ, a wood-burning stove, a pizza oven and a spacious table with benches for communal use or not.
La Loge is very spacious and has room for 6 people.

Chateau Mondou and its 3 gites are at the end of a cul-de-sac and have 360-degree views of the fields and hills. The sunrise and sunset there are breathtakingly beautiful. Relaxing there is very easy and there is plenty of room to move around on our property. There are numerous seating areas, in the sun, in the shade, where you can be together, but also alone. And yet Villeneuve sur Lot is only 4km away. There are the big supermarkets, but also small specialty shops. Villeneuve actually has everything you need when visiting an atmospheric medium-sized French town: atmosphere, markets, terraces, performances and also canoe rental. Chateau Mondou guarantees tranquillity and rurality and the opportunity to immerse yourself in what nature has to offer. A true paradise for birdwatchers and you may just see deer and wild boar crossing a field in the distance at dusk.

Hallo,
Wat een topplek is het. Het was ons derde bezoek en steeds verrast de plek, de natuur en de omgeving ons. Dit jaar was er veel verbouwd en aangepast. Ook het zwembad was waanzinnig verbouwd. Deze week waren we met 9 mensen ( 4 parties) te gast bij chateau Mondou. Het gezelschap was echt uniek. Ieder had zijn eigen ritme en vrijheid en ook samen waren we verbonden. We hadden zeer bijzonder mooie gesprekken, fantastisch eten, heerlijke muziek, dansend in de avond zon. De plek leent zich tot al dit moois. Alles kan en niets moet. Rokus en Marie Anne waren samen uitmuntende gastheer & vrouw. En wij sliepen in het kasteel, in een zeer zeer ruime grote kamer met een geweldig bed.

Dank voor deze fijne recensie, we worden er verlegen van. Moet even een nuance aanbrengen dat het fantastische eten in gezamenlijkheid werd bereid. Ieder droeg een gerecht aan en dat werd samen een mooie gevulde tafel. Jullie dank voor de positieve energie.

We hebben een prima week gehad. Alles was schoon en netjes. Fijne keuken, leuke zitjes en enorm gezellig met de andere vakantievierders. Een heerlijk zwembad in een prachtige omgeving.
Restaurants, food & wine
Cahors, Bergerac and Bordeaux are cities known for their great wines. The Chateau is very central in relation to those cities. There are many wineries to visit in the wide surroundings to taste and buy wine directly. Villeneuve sur Lot has many restaurants and terraces where it is pleasant to linger. In high season, you can visit the so-called Marches Gourmandes every day, in a different village. All you have to do is bring your own cutlery and glasses. The local tradesmen provide tables, chairs, music, food stalls and food trucks. These are evenings you won't forget.
Activities
Villeneuve sur Lot, with its 30,000 inhabitants, is a sizable town with everything you would hope to find in a big city. Many terraces near the city gate and along the Lot river, where you can get a coffee early in the morning and enjoy oysters and a glass of white wine in the afternoon. In the wider area, it is possible to visit many picturesque villages with just as many markets, restaurants and village squares. It takes no effort at all to experience that real southern French feeling every day.
The Villeneuve Golf and Country Club is just 8 kilometres from our Chateau. It is a challenging course and you can also have a very nice lunch and dinner there. The restaurant's terrace overlooks the hills and the green of the 18th hole.
