The house
Welcome to our authentic detached French house with typical features of the region such as the thick "en pierre" walls in the living room and bedrooms. Great for two, but also ideal as a family home. Not to forget the dog! Rated as 3 *** since 2019.
The luxurious sleeping area for 2 is located on the floating mezzanine level above the living room.
Through the patio doors you walk straight into the garden to the rear of the house. Lots of space to lounge together, with grassland, tall trees, lots of privacy and always places for sun and shade and with a wonderful view over the hills.
The house has 1 bathroom on the ground floor with shower and sink and a 2nd bathroom on the 1st floor with shower, toilet and sink furniture. On the ground floor a separate toilet .
At the front of the house an amazing view over the hills. In addition, there is an air conditioner in the home that can both cool and heat. Internet is available in the form of 4G Wifi.

Saint Franchy is a small village with remarkle views over the hills. Within a few minutes from the house, there are infinitely beautiful marked hiking routes through the rolling landscape. Both for the climbers and for the lover of the more flat routes. Even a bit of the route to Santiago de Compastella is possible, 10 km north of St. Franchy.
Biking : twelve mountain bike trails depart from St. Saulge. For the untrained cyclist, the route along the canal of Nivernais is a must, along picturesque lockguard houses. The many locks are still operated by the residents of these houses by hand. The one who drives a motorcycle will be pleased by the area, especially its quit little roads without traffic.

Mooi schoon en ruim opgezet huis in een schitterende omgeving. Fijne keuken waar heerlijk kan worden gekookt. We hebben helaas een medisch probleem ondervonden waar de eigenaren zeer accuraat mee om zijn gegaan waardoor dit snel en goed is opgelost!

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Het huis was ideaal voor ons: omheinde tuin voor de hond, heerlijk rustige omgeving, mooie uitvalbasis voor uitstapjes vlakbij en wat verder weg. Alles wat we nodig hadden, was aanwezig. En ook zeer betaalbaar. Daarnaast nog eens fijne verhuurders. Dus we raden dit huis zeker aan!

Restaurants, food & wine
The area can be nicely tapped. For the wines we are 30 km from Pouilly on the Loire and Sancerre. Also the region of the goat cheese grottin du chavignol. Coming via the N77 towards our holiday home you will pass the Chablis region with excellent white wines, as well as the Crémant de Bourgogne.
Activities
During the summer, music, theater, film, vintage festivals etc. are sufficient in the region. Often with fireworks shows at the end of the party. Every village has its own brocante with village party. The large brocante of Corbigny is every year in August. A brochure with all the brocantes of the Niévre is present in the house. Several midieval villages are worth to visit such as Clamecy and Vezelay.
The Etang du Merle swimming lake is 3 km away. The larger lakes Etang de Baye and Vaux offer opportunities for sailing, surfing or small boat rentals. On the Loire there are places for renting a canoe, but also in the town of Limanton you can make beautiful canoetrips on the river Aron.

Further remarks
Relaxing is something you do naturally when you stay here. The silence is soothing and the star skies incredibly beautiful. Light pollution is unknown in Saint-Franchy. The summers are warm and dry.
