Seine Maritime

A holiday home in Seine Maritime means being close to the sea as well as to the green interior. Bordering on the English Channel you will find seaside resorts with beaches and white cliffs on the Côte d’Albâtre in Pays de Caux. The interior of Pays-de-Bray offers a variety of landscapes such as hills, meadow, hedges and rivers.

Holiday home on the coast

From your gite on the coast between Le Tréport and Le Havre on the mouth of the river Seine you can make trips to fishing ports Fécamp and  Dieppe. Or to the spectacular cliffs at Étretat. Enjoy a day at the seaside in the seaside resorts of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, Saint-Valery-en-Caux, Varengeville-sur-Mer and Veulettes-sur-Mer. Explore the historical and cultural heritage of Vittefleur and cross the impressive 1400 metre high suspension bridge over the Seine in Tancarville.

Going inland from the coast

There is plenty of culture and history to enjoy in Seine-Maritime. Stroll through the pretty capital of the region, Rouen, through cobblestone streets along the wooden facades, the Notre-Dame cathedral and the Historial Jeanne d’Arc. Nearby is the rural village Montigny, surrounded by forest with a 15th century church and 16th century castle. Walking from Lammerville you will see the ruins of a castle which Richard Lionheart allegedly attacked when the area was still part of England. Visit the leafy, traditional Norman village Forges-les-Eaux. Characteristic for the interior is the characteristic clos-masure, a farmhouse surrounded by ancient trees.

Vacation home in nature

Beautiful walks can be from Auffay and Neufchâtel with views on the Béthune valley. A mix of sea and countryside offers a trip over the beach of the small seaside resort Quiberville through the Saâne valley to Longueil.

In April you can enjoy the fragrant hyacinths along the path from floral town La Hallotière through the forest and in the Andelle valley.

Other valleys for walking are Bresle and  Yères over an old railroad track from Dieppe to Eu castle. There are beautiful areas for mountain biking and horse riding, such as the ‘Avenue verte, Paris-Londres’.
