Historical monuments in Aude
Visit during your holiday one of the historic buildings in the city of Carcassonne, appointed by the UNESCO World Heritage site, with its beautiful old cité with city walls and cathedrals, including the Saint Michel Cathedral. Or drive to the city of Narbonne on the Mediterranean coast and visit for instance the Abbaye de Fontfroide. End the afternoon with a trip to the beach at Narbonne, or visit the nature reserve on the coast, Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise, one of the last great natural areas with more than 200 km of hiking trails.
Sports activities in your holidays in the Aude
On the beach of Narbonne a variety of sports are possible such as kite surfing and sand yachting. Not far from Narbonne is Gruisan, where you and your children can climb in a tree adventure park. An adventure park like that you will also find further inland, in Alet-les-Bains, near the town of Limoux, famous for the Blanquette de Limoux, a sparkling wine. Or make a bike ride along the Canal du Midi during you holiday, stop in the town of Castelnaudary and order a plate of cassoulet in one of the restaurants.
