The house
The house offers 130m² living comfort for 6 people with a fast internet connection and is divided as follows:
Entrance through a porch into the hallway with direct access to a spacious lounge tastefully and comfortably furnished with a sitting area and fireplace, flat screen cable TV (French channels), DVD/CD player, sound system and wifi internet. The spacious open plan kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric stove (4-ring induction), fridge/freezer, oven, nespresso and filter coffee machine, kettle and microwave oven. You also find a 6-persons dining table in connection with the kitchen. There is a utility room, which is accessed from the garden, with a washing machine, worktop space and sink. The charcoal Weber barbecue is also kept here.
From the living room and kitchen, patio doors give direct access to the conservatory, where you find comfortable chairs and a dining table. This is a useful spot to enjoy the garden views in the spring and autumn or for reading a book.
From the hallway you have access to the three bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 has a double bed consisting of 2 single beds (2.00 x 0.90 m) and a tastefully decorated shower room with vanity unit and separate shower with glass screen. There is also a wardrobe and a set of drawers.
Bedroom 2 also has a double bed with two single mattresses (2.00 x 0.90m) and a vanity unit.
Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds (2.00 x 0.90m). There is a shared bathroom for bedroom 2 and 3 with separate shower, basin and a separate toilet accessed from the hallway.
Bedroom 2 and 3 have large build-in wardrobes with plenty of shelves and hanging space. Baby cot and highchair are available.

Maison Vaussiere is located within walking distance to Lorgues, quietly set at the end of a cul-de-sac with only 2 neighbours and no direct passing traffic. It is within easy travelling distance to Nice, Cannes, Saint Tropez and the other mediterranean coastal resorts. The spacious garden is fenced with an iron gate making this house safe for small children. You can enjoy uninterrupted views over the vineyards from the garden's terraces or swim in the (heated) pool in the privacy of your garden. The house has a 'jeux de boules' court, where you can practice the local sport during your holiday. Balls etc are available in the house. The garden also has a lawn for children to play and there are olive trees and other mature planting in the garden. The pool (heated on request in spring and autumn) has steps into the water, practical for you with small children. There are also parasols for that most important shade in the midday sun. On the terraces you find tables and chairs for al-fresco dining both at the front and back of the house. Pots with flowers and other plants make this garden a little haven for it's visitors.
If you want warm fresh bread in the morning you can take a 15 minute walk into the village, where you find a selection of bakeries and small cafés serving freshly brewed coffee and croissants.
There are several supermarkets in Lorgues, which have open all day and even Sunday until noon for all your daily shopping.
On Tuesdays the famous Lorgues market is in full swing from early morning until 13.00 - the largest in the region. On Fridays there is a farmer's market with local farmers selling their produce. In the summer months this market is combined with a brocante.

Zeer aangenaam verblijf met 2 kinderen. Erg rustig gelegen, veel privacy. Heerlijk zwembad.
De wegbeschrijving mag nog toegevoegd worden. Het huisnummer klopte niet. Bij aankomst dus niet makkelijk te vinden. Gelukkig is de gastheer (Phil) zeer attent en behulpzaam. ( ook bij stroomuitval na een hevig onweer). Enig minpunt is dat er geen airco is en dus de nachten behoorlijk warm waren. Verder prima. Een aanrader.Comment from Phil Barker

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in Maison Vaussiere. We waren met onze twee kinderen en hun vriendinnen. Het huis is heerlijk groot en het gemak van twee badkamers is een plus. Maar vooral de tuin is fantastisch. Je hoeft eigenlijk helemaal niet weg, zo fijn is deze ingericht. De hele dag is er een schaduwplekje te vinden. Starten op het terrasje aan de voorkant met ontbijt, lunch onder de parasol bij het zwembad en 'savonds dineren op het terras dat aan de serre grenst. En overdag heerlijk chillen aan en in het zwembad. Overigens hebben we ook genoten van de omgeving. Het plaatsje (en marktje) in Lorgue is sfeervol en de Badplaatsen Frejus en Nice zijn op rij-afstand. Verder ook veel goede wijnhuizen te bezoeken. Kortom: een aanrader.
Restaurants, food & wine
You find numerous bistros and restaurants in the area and in Lorgues for all tastes and budgets from the famous restaurant Bruno's just outside Lorgues on the road towards Vidauban and Les Arcs, known for its truffle-based specialities, the good quality La table du Pôl with traditional French cuisine to the friendly and athmospheric Italian restaurant 'Main a la pâte' just up from the center of Lorgues (pizza and pasta dishes). Here you can eat outside in the warm evenings, children are welcome. The atmospheric cafés and bars in Lorgues are just the place to enjoy a glass of rosé or something stronger under shady plane trees. There are plenty of local vineyards and chateaux nearby, where the staff is happy to show you around and let you taste their wines, sometimes even accompanied by a meal.
Activities
In Lorgues, about 10-15 minutes walk from the house, you find Lorgues Tennis club, where you can rent a court and play from early morning to the evening most days. Just outside Lorgues, on the road to Vidauban/Les Arcs, you find a pony club, where children can have riding lessons. Bicycles can be rented in Vidauban, where you can choose between bicycles for all ages and purposes. They even deliver and collect the bycycles for a small fee - please ask for details. Riding and fishing are near by. Water sports and paragliding etc are activities, you can enjoy nearer the coast.
The beaches of the Mediterranean coast and the Gorges de Verdon are reachable for a day out. In Lorgues and in the nearby medieval villages, you can visit plenty of historic sites as well as enjoying the various local markets and festivals organised under the plane trees so typical of the region. For sports lovers : golf, cycling or mountain-biking, walking, bathing, fishing, canoeing etc.can be found in the surrounding area - please ask for updates at the local tourist information in Lorgues.

Further remarks
I have been the all-year-round guardian of the house and garden for several years now. I live locally and am always available if there are any problems you might have during your stay or information about the area and what it has to offer. I also look after the pool and keep it clean and maintained during the season.
Additional price info and offers
The rental price includes gas, water and electricity.
Arrival is Sunday between 16.00 and 19.00. If you are delayed please let us know.
Departure is Sunday before 10.00. It's also possible to leave earlier if desired.
Obligatory end cleaning is paid on arrival and amounts to €135.
Optional bed linen is charged at €12.50 per person and bath towels (not to be used by the pool) at €10.00 per person paid on arrival.
Pool heating can be arranged in April/May and September/October for extra €100 per week.
Payment conditions:
The deposit will be paid back to the tenant after successful end inspection of the property, at the latest 7 days after departure by bank transfer.
Cancellation:
We recommend that you take out a travel and cancellation insurance to cover any loss of funds from cancellation.
