Gîte Le champignon is the perfect spot for renting a cozy, serene apartment with stunning view over the Ecrins massif, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Mont Dauphin, the pittoresque town Guillestre and old church of Risoul.
Gîte Le Champignon is ideally located beneath the skistations of Risoul and Vars (185km piste, free shuttle in front of the apartment), in between the two national parcs: Ecrins and Queyras, close to the beautiful nature reserve Val d'Escreins and only minutes away from the Risoul forest. It's a perfect base for all kinds of activities such as (snowshoe)hiking, (ice)climbing, mountainbiking, cycling, parapenting, kayaking, sightseeing, (crosscountry)skiing, and snowboarding.
The apartment " Champignon de Mouche' of 60m2 is suitable for 2-6 persons and consist of:

Gite Le Champignon is ideally located in between the two national parcs: Ecrins and Queyras, beneath the skistations of Risoul and Vars (185km piste, free shuttle in front of the apartment) and only minutes away from the Risoul forest. It's situated in Risoul, in the quiet and warm town of Les Bruns. In the nearby town of Guillestre you will find a bakery, a large supermarket and plenty of cosy restaurants to eat out in the evening.

Fijn verblijf, van alle gemakken voorzien en schoon. Wij zaten in gîte Le Champigon met een lekker balkon waar je 's ochtends (in de 3e week van september) fijn kunt ontbijten. De rest van de dag is er geen zon waardoor de gîte erg fris is, maar gelukkig is er een pelletkachel die je na een dag buiten zijn lekker kunt laten branden. Over het fantastische uitzicht is al veel gezegd en terecht!

Appartement is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Uitzicht vanaf balkon is weergaloos.
Ligging is geweldig centraal naar verschillende dalen en natuurgebieden. Eigenaren zijn erg behulpzaam.
Wij komen zeker vaker terug want nog veel te veel te zien.

At only 11 km you can find La Foret Blanche (185km piste). In front of the chalet there is a free shuttle that leaves frequently (in high season every 15 minutes) to Risoul 1850. La Foret Blanche is located in one of the sunniest areas of Europe and at the same time has a lot of snow. The tracks of Risoul and Vars were connected in 1990, creating 'La Foret Blanche' an immense skiresort. Eighty five percent of these slopes are above 2000m giving them an amazing view over the South alpes. Whether your a beginner or an experienced freerider La Foret Blanche has someting to offer for everybody. There are 21 green, 45 blue, 40 red, 10 black piste, 7 snow parks, a slalom course, a free beginner's area, natural toboggan runs and 2 boardercross. For the experienced freerider, La Foret Blanche is international renown for its impressive freeride terrain.

Visible from the chalet this well-preserved fortress from 1693 is located on the top of a mountain with a stunning view. It’s is entered by a wooden bridge and surrounded by high stone walls.

Summer activities
Whether you like hiking, climbing, parapenting, swimming, mountainbiking, cycling, doing via ferrata's, kayaking or other water sport activities, it's all possible within a short distance of the chalet.
Winter activities
The chalet is a perfect base for countless winter activities. You can take a free shuttle from the chalet to the skistation of Risoul. Here you can have a lot of fun skiing or snowboarding on the 185km of piste. It's even possible to do some iceskating or do a very long zipline of 700m. From the chalet you can easily reach 'Le Foret de Risoul', where you can do some beautiful snowshoehikes or cross country skiing tours. In only 20 minutes drive there are the world class iceclimbing areas Fressiniere and Fournel. From the chalet you look over Mont Dauphin. On this beautiful conglomerate wall it is even possible to climb in winter.
