Holiday home in France
Are you looking for a beautiful holiday home in the Provence with swimming pool? Les Platanes is an authentic, more than 200 year old maison de maître. In the last few years the house has been completely restored in Provencal style whilst maintaining old details. The furniture is Swedish Gustavian style. The furnishings and comfort are of a high standard. The house is spacious, has beautiful light and a practical layout. The thick walls and old shutters keep it cool during hot days. The light is incredibly bright and the colours are vivid. You really are in the original southern France. It feels as if Gauguin or Matisse could drop by any time.
The house is situated at the end of a cup-de-sac. A large cast iron gate between two massive planes forms the entrance to a walled terrain of 1800m2 with old trees, hedges and plants. It is quiet with complete privacy. It is a safe, child friendly house.
Through double doors you enter the house into a spacious hallway. You can see the swimming pool in the other garden. On the left is the living room with fireplace. Behind the living room is a separate TV room with sofa. On the right is the dining room with large dining tabel (with high chairs ) and acces to completely renovated kitchen with large cooker, dishwasher and large combination fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is a WC downstairs. On the first floor is the large parent bedroom (5x6m) and ensuite bathroom with WC and walk in shower. The other two bedrooms are also spacious and have their own bathrooms with shower or with an old fashioned rol top bath tub and shower. There is an extra WC on the landing. Alfred en Mariëtte Müller from Anjum,
Les Platanes is a comfortable and stylish summer house in the heart of the Provence. Even in October, we enjoyed the beautiful garden and lovely pool. Eyguières is a great starting point to discover the beautiful surroundings, visit a typically Provencal (brocante) market and taste the French cuisine in one of the numerous restaurants. We spent a great fortnight and love to come back!
Peter en Mireille from België,
AJ from Ireland,
What a haven of peace; the house felt like a true home, and a little escape from the world after a day in Aix-en-Provence or the bustle of Arles. Every detail is considered, and the authenticity of the restoration of this house is a delight, you can smell the history. Plantain trees that have witnessed that history stand guard at the gate of the secluded garden, and greet you when you open the bedroom shutters in the morning. This is an exceptional place, with the most wonderfully welcoming owners. A place where life goes at its own pace, away from the madding crowd.
Janneke from x,
Alfred from bij gites bekend,
