The house
Set in a restored Pigeonnier, typical building of the area, this gite has a cozy little living room, a comfortable sofa, two armchairs, a flat screen satellite TV (Dutch channels), a DVD player, kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hob, oven, coffee maker, toaster. In the bedrooms, a double bed of 1.60x2.00 and two single beds. The beds are made on arrival (duvets) and we provide clean linen every week. Spacious bathroom with bath, double sink and toilet, towel radiator. Two terraces with teak furniture, umbrella and two sunbeds . Basic necessities like garbage bags, matches, coffee filters, dishwashing detergent, dish cloth, scourer, brush, mop are present. Lots of space and greenery around. Playing area (private for the gite). On the small friendly campsite (open between April 19 and October 30) there is a heated pool. Tenants can use it in the period when the site is opened.

The property of 35 hectares offers all the facilities you need for a successful holiday: beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet, a mild climate with lots of sunshine, a gastronomic wealth, and lots of possibilities for daytrips. Away from the noice and traffic, in the middle of the beautiful nature of the Midi-Pyrenees. Theo rolling landschape offers meadows and woodland.

We werden fijn ontvangen! De winkels waren dicht en daarom haalde Simone nog wat ingrediënten voor het avondeten in een ander dorpje voor ons. Het huisje staat midden in de glooiende grashellingen, tussen de paarden en aan de rand van een camping. Wij hebben hier enorme rust kunnen ervaren en genoten van de natuur om ons heen. Het zwembad is verwarmd en was daarom heerlijk om elke dag met onze kleine kindjes te vertoeven. Het huisje zelf is karakteristiek, alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Wat voor ons een nadeel was.. er is niet veel lichtinval in het huisje en de badkamer bleef wat vochtig waardoor handdoeken niet drogen. Maar als het goed is ben je toch lekker de hele dag buiten en heb je hier geen “last”van.
Guido en Simone zijn geweldig aardige mensen. Wij zouden het verblijf hier zeker aanraden!!

Ons verblijf in de gite Le Pigeonnier op landgoed Domaine de Merlanes is ons uitstekend bevallen.De gite is een prachtig verbouwde grote duiventil,van alle gemakken voorzien,de buitenkant prachtig, en van binnen een knusse woonkamer met open keuken,een hele ruime badkamer met fijne douche,en boven twee slaapkamers,met goede bedden.De Pigeonnier heeft een fantastisch uitzicht en het is genieten van de rust.De ontvangst was geweldig,de eigenaren Simone en Guido zijn zeer gastvrij en gezellig.Wij hadden veel zon en konden alle dagen op het terras ontbijten,er is zelfs een verwarmd zwembad.De omgeving is heuvelachtig en erg mooi,leuke dorpjes in de omgeving en montauban op 25 minuten rijden.Kortom we hebben ervan genoten.
Restaurants, food & wine
The Tarn-et-Garonne region has lots to offer. Obviously wine, but also craft goat cheese and the Ferme Auberges whith on the menu the purely regional specialties. You may remember the famous pâtés, foie gras, magret and confit de canard and many dishes where the famous local mushrooms, cèpes are being processed.
Activities
The (heated) pool is open from April to late October. Between April 19 and September 30, you and the children are welcome to use the facilities of the small cozy campsite (50 pitches). Ponies, horses (stables, riding by appointment), children's zoo, wooden play equipment on the site.
