Holiday home in France
Our gite 'Huguette' covers half (ground floor and first floor) of the 'big house' on the grounds of Aire du temps. Not long ago, this was the home of Huguette Druillet, the former owner of this house. Gîte 'Huguette' therefore has an almost authentic French interior. Think of dark wooden ceilings, pretty glass in the French doors, brass door knobs and floral wallpaper and thick oak beams in the attic. It has memorable mountain views.
Lay out: Attractive living room with fire place, French doors to private patio. Kitchen, wc, bathroom with luxury shower, and two bedrooms, ( one double bed of 160x200 on the ground floor, one double bed of 140x200 plus three single beds of 90x200 in the large attic room- an extra bed can be placed here) interior and exterior stair case.
Unlimited acces to garden and other terraces. Swimming pool for the little ones. Sauna made from reclaimed wood, with wood stove.
It can also be combined with our neighbouring gite 'Hugo' ( up to 4 people) and/or our fully decorated rental caravan ( up to 4 people) or furnished safari tent ( also 4 people)

Sainte Marie is situated on the edge of the Garonne valley in the ' High Pyrenees'. From the guesthouse and the garden of Aire du temps ( at 500 metres) you have a view of the valley, towards three mountains - often covered with snow! It is excellent for walking, cycling, rafting (canoeing on the Garonne), fishing, paragliding, climbing, horse riding or golf. In autumn you will be surprised by the sound of the 'brame du cerf', the roaring of red deer.

Restaurants, food & wine
Welcome hamper with regional/organic products upon request. For our 'table d'hôte' we offer a three-course meal with plenty of fresh vegetables and as many organic ingredients as possible. Please book beforehand - then you can also let us know about any diet restrictions.
In addition, we have a savoury pie service ( on order).
Other culinary delights: cheese, apples, honey, free range meat, cassoulet, a lot of duck.... and if you go a bit more inland (Gers) also wine, armagnac and 'floc de Gascogne'.
Come and enjoy the mountains! Throughout the whole year you can pamper yourself in the old spa baths of Bagnères-de-Luchon of Bagnères-de-Bigorre.
In spring and summer you can cycle, go rafting, climbing, fishing or paragliding. We already mentioned the sound of the 'brame du cerf', the roaring of the red deer on 'our' mountain. And in winter, put on an extra sweater and come skiing, cross country skiing or snow shoe walking: ' raquettes à neige. Or simply walking, in case there is no snow, for example at the Saoule waterfall or in one of the three 'forêts domaniales', nearby forests. Besides deer, wild boar, birds of prey and squirrels, you can even encounter brown bears; there are about twenty living in the Pyrenees.
Children will undoubtedly have a fun with one or more days in adventure park Pyrénées Hô, about six kilometres from here. With the elements air, earth, water, wood and stone, they can enjoy themselves with climbing, rafting, etc. If they would like to row, pedalo or go pony riding, take them to Lac de Géry at Marignac (11 km ). Swimming is possible in the beautiful mountain lake of Saint-Pé d'Ardet (6 km) or in lake Barbazan (on our property there is a swimming pool for the little ones).
Castles and more
If you like cultural history, drive or walk through the Barousse Valley to see the castle ruins of Bramevaque and Mauléon-Barousse ( Maison des Sources is also worth visiting there). On the way back you can visit Troubat's cave, which is beautifully lit in the evening. But do not miss the Cathedral of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, about ten kilometres from here. You see it from a distance, on a tall rock plateau. Just a short distance away, the impressive medieval Romanesque Saint-Just de Valcabrère Basilica, with a beautiful old cemetery around it. Continue in the direction of Montréjeau (lively French plateau square with cafes) and Lannemezan, then you will pass the prehistoric caves of Gargas, with ancient paintings of - among others - hands without fingers (!). While driving around you will see numerous 'brocante' shops, and with some luck on weekends there will be a vide-grenier somewhere (car boot sale).

Climbing, swimming, skiing, cross country skiing, golf, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, water sports, mountaineering, gliding, tennis
