Welcome in Mas Fontclair, a 700 year old winehouse on the edge of the Medieval town of Sommieres. The Mas has a rural setting in Languedoc-Roussillon, betweent Cevennen and Camargue, close to cities Nîmes and Montpellier and only an hour from the mediterranean beaches.
There is a sunny flower garden with swimming pool, a lovely green lawn and terraces, view of the area and the river Vidourle that quietly flows through Sommieres.
From the Mas you simply walk into town.
The Mas has three gites for 1 up to 6 persons.
The gites have good beds, a bathroom with shower/bath, WC and sink and a fully equipped kitchen.
They each have either a terrace or private garden with view of the river or of the garden of the Mas.

From the Mas you walk in 2 minutes to the medieval town of Sommieres.
Sommières is a charming medieval town with car-free streets, squares, shops and terraces. The River Vidourle flows quietly through it, and a walk across the bridge "Pont Romain ', the squares, along arcades and sycamores is defenitely worth while.
On Saturday morning and Wednesday evening there is a market where you can enjoy fresh local produce and the local tradition: day-fresh oysters and mussels with a glass of white wine.
Sommières and its surrounding area offer excellent opportunities to discover the Languedoc-Roussillon: culture, nature, sea and relaxation are nearby. From the Mas, you can enjoy the landscape, French villages, vineyards, olive trees and the majestic Pic St Loup.

Sommieres and Villevieille have their own wine caves but there are many other wineries in the area for example the wine around Pic saint Loup.
Villevieille is also known for its olive oil, which you can taste in the cave where the oil is pressed.
Directly from the Mas you can walk or cycle. In Sommieres you can rent bikes.
There is a equestrian centre at 50 metres from the Mas or a bit further in Camargue where you can make wonderful trips.www.cabanesdecacharel.com
In Nimes, less than 30 min away you will find a golfcourse, http://www.golf-nimes.com , and tennis is possible in Sommieres.
Climbing is possible in Cevennes, as well as canoeing and hiking. And ofcourse at only 30 min the sandy beaches of the mediterranean sea.

During spring and Easter holidays we offer you an extra night for free when you book two or more nights with us.
From four up to six people we rent out two gites which are interconnected by a staircase.
The gite has a terrace overlooking the river, the town and the beautiful nature surrounding the property. It also has a cottage garden directly on the banks of the river.
Price for both gites 1300 euros per week in high season July/August.
750 euros per week in low season April / May / June / September
