The house
Gîte "la Blanquette" has a surface of 52 m², it is single storey and has no sils.
The gîtes is fully equipped for 4 to 6 people:
• Free WIFI in every gîte.
• Spacious living room: sitting area with armchair and comfortable double sofa bed, TV, dvd player, radio-cd player, 6 person dining table
• Kitchen-corner: dishwasher, gas cooker, extractor and fridge
• Bathroom: shower, wash stand, heating and separated toilet
• Bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe
• Bedroom with two single beds (can be put together to make a double bed) and a wardrobe
• Blankets and pillows are available, bed linen are included in the price
• Heating in all rooms
• Each gîte has 2 large terraces: 25 m2 in front (eastside), and 25 m2 at the back (westside), therefore you can choose either sun or shade. The terraces at the front are partly covered and have hardwood patio furniture (with cushions) and a barbeque. The terraces at the back have plastic patio furniture (with cushions).
• Private parking space on the property
• Free use of the washing machine

Gîte "la Blanquette" is accessible to wheelchairs:

The pool has a salt filter, so soft water and no chlorine! The size is 8x4 m and the depth varies from 1 m to 1.80 m, it is open from May untill end of September. On the terrace you'll find sun loungers. The childproof fence and gate are according to the latest safety requirements.

Having lived in the southern French Alps for nearly eight years, we came on holiday to this beautiful area and fell in love with it right away. So we decided to exchange the mountains for the sunny vineyards and mysterious castles of the Aude.
In the Aude you will find all the beauties of France back in one province:
sandy beaches, ski slopes, old quiet country villages, mediaeval towns and rugged castles, wild gorges with fast flowing rivers, beautiful rolling hills with olive trees, sunflowers and vineyards ...
We consider this therefore as the most beautiful region of France!
Around "Entre les Vignes" it is very quiet: it's situated on a quiet little lane with no passing traffic, 500 meters from the village Tourreilles. Both from the gîtes as from the pool you have a magnificent view on the surrounding vineyards of the AOC "Blanquette de Limoux" and on the hills of the Corbières!
You can just hang around, laze and "slow down", but also go hiking and mountain biking, visit the castles and villages, or wine tasting at the neighbours ...
Our 4 gîtes are located in the "Pays Cathare", the Cathar country:
You'll find beautiful, rough castles, such as Peyrepertuse with its mediaeval festival, Queribus, Puilaurens, Thermes, or the mysterious Montségur from the Grail legend. And of course the magnificent medieval Cité of Carcassonne, with its knight tournaments and summer concerts: this is the best preserved mediaeval walled city of France and is on the World Heritage list of UNESCO.
There are plenty of old villages and towns nearby. Such as the mediaeval market town of Mirepoix with its Basilique and cosy square full of terraces, St. Hilaire with its abbey, Foix with its citadel, the old health resort Alet-les-Bains with its spring water and abbey ruins, or Rennes-le-Chateau with its mysterious treasure, and in the health resort of Rennes-les-Bains you can find hot thermal baths, especially for rheumatism.
Limoux is located at only 6 km from our gîtes. It is a nice little old town situated on the river Aude, and has a lovely square with lots of terraces. During summer there are weekly evening markets, antique markets, free concerts and an international dance festival. In many of the little towns nearby you'll also find plenty of cosy cafes, markets, flea markets and village festivals (feria's).
In short: "Entre les Vignes" is a lovely place in a beautiful region!

Wij, een gezin met 3 kinderen, 1-4-7 jaar, hebben hier gedurende 2 weken de tijd van ons leven gehad! Kinderbedje en stoel stonden klaar voor onze jongste kadet.
Prachtige ligging, huisje proper en van alle comfort voorzien.
Theo en Marjan zijn lieve sociale mensen die klaar staan met raad en daad.
Zeer goede uitvalsbasis om de streek te verkennen!
Het zwembad was zalig om in af te koelen en zeker niet te koud voor de kinderen.Het enige 'minpunt' was dat wij onze kleinste jongen (1 jaar) niet konden laten kruipen in de tuin of op terras. Beide (prachtige) terrassen zijn voorzien van kiezelsteentjes, wat hij maar al te graag in zijn mond stopt.
De tuin is prachtig, maar niet om op blote voeten te lopen anders heb je prikker in je voeten(bepaald kruid gebonden aan de streek en de droogte).
Maar de kinderen zijn het snel gewoon om hun slippers aan te doen ;) dus voor de oudere geen probleem.Wij komen graag nog eens terug naar deze top locatie en hebben hard genoten en raden dit aan bij vrienden en familie!

Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame hosts en het huisje/de huisjes zijn zeer compleet

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad bij Theo en Marjan. De huisjes zijn heel compleet en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Mooi uitzicht vanaf de huisjes en en het zwembad. Wat een rust en stilte! Onze kinderen (7 en 3) hebben zich goed vermaakt in het zwembad en in de “bibliotheek” waar ze spelletjes speelden met de kinderen van de andere huisjes.

”TOQUES ET CLOCHERS” :
In Limoux, or in one of the 40 surrounding villages, one of the largest wine festivals of France is organised each year, the weekend before Easter. You can taste the fine wines from the region and you can eat at one of the open air restaurants. The proceeds are used for restoring the church of the organizing village. Everything takes place in the open air, where many bands turn it into a great festival!
The wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon and the Corbieres are of course very well known, so a visit to one of the many wine cellars should definitely be on the program. For example in Limoux with its delicious "Blanquette": the first sparkling wine in the world, discovered in 1531 by the monks of the Abbey of St. Hilaire and the precursor of champagne ...
Allow yourself to be tempted by the gastronomy of our region, for example a Casoulet, or the Fricassée de Limoux.
Activities
There are many beautiful walking tours which then go through rolling vineyards, then across open tops with stunning views! Also on your bike you can let off steam.
The Tour de France comes every year nearby and passes regularly by Limoux.
In the area you can swim in several lakes, on the river Aude you can go canoeing and rafting and the climbers will like the tree climbing parks.
The mountains of the Pyrenees (where you can ski in winter) are at an hour's drive. Andorra is at 2.5 hours.
The beaches of the Mediterranean, for example Narbonne-Plage, St. Pierre, Gruissan, or Porte la Nouvelle, are also about an hour's drive.

• The rental of our gîtes runs from 16:00 on the day of arrival until 10:00 on the day of departure.
• In summer (juli and august) the gîtes are rented from Saturday to Saturday.
• The rest of the year the day of arrival is flexible but with a minimum stay of 4 nights.
When booking 2 weeks we give 5% discount on the 2nd week.
When booking 3 weeks we give 10% discount on the 3rd week.
