The house
Holiday home Villa La Prele is a maison de maitre from 1883, but completely adapted to today's needs. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary items (nespresso including milk frother, dishwasher, large smeg gas cooker including 2 electric ovens (large and small), combi microwave, grill, toaster, blender etc). The furnishing belongs to the house with a mix of attractive classic antique furniture and modern accessories. There is also a TV with a chromecast to stream the desired channels via your own phone or tablet. And of course there is internet with WIFI (super fast fibre-optic internet). There are plenty of towels and tea towels in the cupboard. But there are also several games, for both big and small. In the shed there are several bikes (children's bikes and adult bikes) and also plenty of 'outdoor toys' including a large table tennis table. Downstairs is an outdoor toilet and if you go up the stairs there are spacious bedrooms. two bedrooms have double beds (180 by 200) and one room has two single beds. In the master bedroom (which has air conditioning) there is a baby bed (incl. baby bath; playpen mat; potty etc) and there is also a toddler bed.
The bathroom has a vanity unit with sink and a new shower (rain shower; waterfall and side radiators), a toilet and washing machine.
We also have a mini 'wellness'. Consisting of a double infrared sauna and a 2nd shower cabin with a rain shower and jet streams.
The (heated 28 degrees) private pool is open from April to September. The pool has a depth of 1.20 m to 2.20 m. Diving is prohibited. The pool is equipped with an alarm that can of course be turned off when swimming. If the house is rented by people with small children, a fence is placed around the pool (see photo). That does give such a safe feeling!
In short: If you are not looking for a tourist attraction but an atmospheric house in the middle of the quiet 'campagne' where you can completely unwind, then experience in this house the fine French life! 'Vive La France'.

Villa La Prele is situated on a dead-end road. Because the garden is situated backwards, you will not be bothered by the neighbours who live opposite the villa. The other neighbours are 200 metres away and will not bother you. The neighbours have a doghouse. You may hear dogs now and then. The garden is surrounded by meadows and trees. You may see sheep being moved from one pasture to another. This is nice to see, because this is done with very trained dogs. Because it is a dead end road and only used by residents, it is very quiet in terms of traffic.
Villa la Prele is situated at the edge of the village. The bakery is 5 minutes by car (or by bike of course). And in the village there is also a supermarket: U-express. That is very nice for the daily shopping.
At 20 minutes driving distance lies St. Amand Montrond. This is a reasonable town with restaurants, large supermarkets, water sports facilities and shops. At 20 minutes drive in the other direction lies La Chatre. This is a similar town as St. Amand Montrond but slightly more atmospheric in terms of town centre.
At 60 minutes by car is the large city of Bourges with the Cathedrale St. Etienne. A truly beautiful cathedral that is on the world heritage list of Unesco.
On the other hand, 60 minutes away lies another large city: Montlucon where you can enjoy shopping, both in the old town and in the new shopping area.

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in jullie prachtig huis. Bij aankomst zat er een hek om het zwembad, super handig voor de kleine kinderen. Aan alles is gedacht in het huis en alles is aanwezig. Ook was het schoon en fris in huis bij aankomst. De kinderen hebben uren kunnen spelen met al het speelgoed in de ’schuur’. De tuin was tevens prachtig om in te spelen. De trampolines waren een groot succes. Het weer was iets minder, waardoor we op bepaalde momenten konden zwemmen. Het plezier was er niet minder om. Het water was goed van temperatuur. Elke dag buiten gegeten. De bbq is flink gebruikt. De wijn smaakte goed en ook het fruit in de tuin hebben we geproefd! Er zijn super veel plekjes in en om het huis waar je gezellig kan zitten. We voelden ons helemaal thuis, wat een rust en komen graag een keertje terug!

Ahhh wat weer een mooie recensie! Heel erg bedankt voor deze fijne woorden! Daar doen we het voor! Fijn dat jullie zo hebben genoten!

Wij hebben genoten van dit rustige verblijf. Leuk om met een persoonlijke brief verwelkomt te worden. De map met alle info was ook heel handig. Wij hadden heel mooi weer dus het zwembad was geen overbodige luxe! Op het nieuwe houten terras naast het zwembad hebben we dagelijks gegeten en in de ligzetels gelegen om te lezen of gewoon te genieten. De schommelstoel is ook heel aangenaam om in te liggen. We willen er thuis zo ook één! De lounge hielden we voor 's avonds om nog eens samen te zitten. De airco was dan ook heel aangenaam in de grootste slaapkamer. De andere kamers hadden een molen maar echt afkoelen deed het daar niet. Misschien kan dit in de toekomst nog voorzien worden. Jullie huis is vast en zeker een aanrader!

Bedankt voor jullie mooie reactie! Ja, dat zonneterras is idd erg fijn (vinden wij ook!). En die schommelstoel is mijn Moederdag cadeau! Maar laat mn gasten ook graag genieten van de mooie dingen. Tja, die airco’s op de andere kamers…. Moeten we nog even over nadenken….. is niet zo goed voor het milieu heb ik mij laten vertellen…. Maar we zullen ons erin gaan verdiepen.

Een heerlijk plek om tot rust te komen. Overal op het terrein zijn plekken waar je in de zon of in de schaduw kan zitten. Het nieuwe zonneterras was onze favoriet. Door het vele speelgoed, het zwembad en de trampolines hebben de kinderen zich geen moment verveeld. Tevens het snelle en stabiele internet een fijne bijkomstigheid. Het prachtige huis waar je je tijdens de vakantie fransoos waant bied alles wat je kan wensen. Arie en Bianca zijn goed te bereiken, en reageren snel. Ik kan iedereen hier een vakantie aanbevelen!

There are many small really French restaurants in the area of which restaurant in Chateaumeillant 'La goutte noir' has a very good price-quality ratio. Chateaumeillant is also a wine village where you can taste this delicious wine.
In la Châtre there are also a number of delicious restaurants as well as in st. Amand montrond. Delicious for gastronomic lovers
Activities
Nearby many beautiful gardens like the monastery garden of Orsan. In Nohant the house of George Sand, the castle route of Jaques Coeur, the castle of Culan etc.
At 20 km distance is the lake of Sidialles for water sports like swimming, canoeing and sailing, there is also a beach. And a beautiful climbing park between the trees and a cable car over the lake of 400 meters! There are plenty of cycling opportunities in the area (note: the landscape is hilly!!). There are also several fish ponds (5 euros pay for the whole day) in the area.
At 15 km distance is the wine village Chateaumeillant. Here is a delicious restaurant (previously had a michelin goute) 'La goutte noir'. In the vicinity, many goat cheese is made on the farms (visiting the farms and eating with them is also possible).
There are several golf possibilities in the vicinity as le golf des Dryades (27 holes) , le golf de Nassigny.

In Montlucon (approx. 60 km) you can do some very nice shopping. Both in the old centre and in the shopping area.

Further remarks
Towels (1 large towel and 1 small towel per person per week) and bed linen are included. Beds are made as soon as you arrive. If you stay 2 weeks, you can change your beds if you wish. There is a washing machine. Upon departure, please remove the bed linen and place it in 1 place in the bathroom. As mentioned before, everything can be used. We rely on trust and on people who treat things properly (games; playstation etc).
The swimming pool is heated (max 28 degrees). No diving is allowed in the pool! And no hard objects may be taken into the pool (because of the sail in the pool). The pool is equipped with an alarm, which of course can be switched off when swimming. If there are small children, a fence will be placed around the pool (see photo). This is a safe feeling.

Outside the school holidays the house is also for rent for a long weekend. The price is 175 euro per day (excl. the obligatory cleaning of 150 euro once). Arrival friday after 10:00 and departure monday 12:00
