The house
The 3* gîte is located in the heart of the flower-filled village of Gorvello. The accommodation is part of a traditional "longère" where we live next door, typical of this part of Brittany. The original part of the building dates back to 1750. The house has been completely renovated over a period of two years to a very high standard: the doors and windows are in oak, the cotton towels and sheets are in washed linen (100% made in France), the kitchen is extremely well equipped, the garden is well tended, and so on.

The house is situated in the picturesque village of Le Gorvello where you will find a very good crêperie (booking recommended).
The town of Theix is only 4 kms away (10 minutes by bike). Here you will find everything you could need during your stay (shops, supermarkets, banks etc.) Theix is also the gateway to the fabulous "Presqu'Ile De Rhuys".
Vannes is a 15 minute drive away. It is a beautiful historic town, situated on the edge of the "Golfe du Morbihan", with its incredible array of islands and many opportunities for a variety of water sports. Southern Brittany is blessed with numerous beaches, each with its own special character. The nearest beach is Damgan, only 15 minutes away by car.

De nieuwe eigenaren Jeremie en Lucy hebben ons allerhartelijkst verwelkomt. Jeremie heeft een eigen bedrijfje waarin hij groepen rondleid door Bretagne en Normandie dus als je iets wil weten van de omgeving dan kan je gerust bij hem terecht. De gite is recentelijk opgeknapt en alles ziet er netjes en schoon uit. De bedden zijn comfortabel en de slaapkamers zijn lekker ruim. Met drie pubers was het heel fijn dat er 2 badkamers waren. De keuken is prima en de koffiemachine met verse bonen een prettige verrassing. Le Gorvello zelf is een schattig klein dorpje met nog een aantal keltische elementen. Er is genoeg te doen in de omgeving. Vannes is een erg gezellige stad en maar op 15 minuten rijden. Carnac en Golf du Morbihan zijn echt een aanrader. Helaas zat bij ons het weer niet mee en hebben we niet kunnen genieten van de stranden in de buurt. Het enige wat een beetje minder was aan het huisje was dat je in de zitkamer maar met 4 personen kunt zitten. Er staan 2 - 2 persoons bankjes. De anderen moeten een stoel uit de keuken erbij zetten. Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad ondanks het herfstachtige weer.

Gite beschikt over 3 slaapkamer en 2 badkamer die allemaal netjes en brandschoon zijn. Heel goede bedden verder . Keuken en woonkamer zijn goed ingericht maar relatief klein , wij hadden iets groter verwacht maar konden ons met 2 personen goed redden. Verhuurders Jeremy en Lucie zijn attent en behulpzaam om verblijf optimaal te laten verlopen en geven veel bruikbare tips om interessante plekken te bezoeken, super hosts !
Hond Pluche is rustig, makkelijk aan te halen en niet opdringerig en alleen in achtertuin aanwezig. Gite staat dwars op doorgaande weg naar Surzur en N 165 waardoor op bepaalde momenten verkeer lawaai aanwezig is , Avond en nacht zijn muisstil , Dorpje is mooi maar bescchikt alleen over 1 creperie , de beste in de regio

There is a free tennis court 100m from the gîte.
You can enjoy a variety of water sports on the Golfe du Morbihan (15 minutes' drive).
Nearby, you can also go hiking, horse-riding or cycling on the many cycle paths nearby.
There is a swimming pool and waterslides 5 minutes away at Aquagolfe.
Vannes, with its many shops, bars, restaurants and historic centre, is just a 15-minute drive away.

Further remarks
On the estate, you'll find several outdoor lounges, a barbecue and other pleasant spots to relax and enjoy your holiday.
There is a free tennis court less than 100m away and our local swimming pool (Aquagolfe) is only a 5 minute drive away. There are 3 indoor pools, an outdoor pool, an artificial river and waterslides. We will also be able to advise you during your stay if necessary, as we live right next door to the gîte.
During your stay, you will also meet our Bernese Mountain Dog Pluche, who is very friendly and only in the garden.
