La Maison d'Anna is on a quiet road off the main route and has a field of horses for neighbours.
It is located in St Theo a hamlet just a couple of minutes from the small, friendly town of Plouguenast where local shops and a couple of restaurants can be found, along with a sports base providing kayak and bicycle rental beside the River Lie.
Nearby is the larger market town of Loudeac, which has several supermarkets, a selection of places to dine out, a covered swimming pool complex, a large fishing lake beside an adventure park and a riding stables that organises pony treks in the forest.
It is easy to explore other areas of Brittany from here, as Loudeac is very central and has a good road network. Enjoy days out on beautiful beaches, cycle beside the Nantes to Brest canal and visit fascinating medieval walled towns with castles, well preserved buildings and bustling street markets.

Restaurants, food & wine

In Brittany it is easy to eat well, much of the food is produced locally, including of course seafood, pork and cider.
There are lots of small, family run auberges and creperies where it is possible to dine out for a reasonable price, as well as some high quality gourmet restaurants.
It is possible to visit some of the farms where cider is produced and test their wares.

Kayaking, cycling, tennis, horse-riding, fishing and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools are available in the local area.
Farmer's markets take place throughout the summer months and there are also several brocante markets.
Lac du Guerledan, an enormous inland lake with a beach, has boat trips, water skiing and fishing, it is 25km west.
Lamballe, which was once the capital of this area of Brittany, has an excellent weekly market and regular shows and events centred around the horse stud, as well as a 9 hole golf course, is the same distance north.
International standard golf courses can be found along the stunning north Breton coast, which is about 40 minutes drive.
The historic cities of Dinan and Josselin should not be missed whilst staying in this region.
