Perfect Country Family Get Away
This was an absolutely beautiful accommodation and perfect for our family. Because of its location in the hills of Grolejac, we had incredible views of the area. The gite itself was very private (despite there being a 2nd gite attached) and gave a nice balance of old world charm (exterior) with modern and cosy interior renovation. There was so much to do for the kids - the pool, table tennis, trampoline - and Karin even came by to bring by some Lego for our youngest and show us some colourful markers in the apartment for our kids. The location was terrific with a short drive to many great areas in the region and you can even walk into Grolejac (20-30 minutes each way depending on your kids' stamina). Karin was a perfect host and answered any questions we had quickly throughout our stay. We were sad to leave.

Comfortable stay in a magical place
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at La Grenie and found the accommodation very clean and comfortable. Karin was a wonderful host making sure we had everything we might need during our stay. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and fresh eggs in the refrigerator. The grounds, gardens and pool are beautiful and the view over the Dordogne river valley was stunning. We found the location great for day trips out exploring the area and the many sites within 30 minutes drive. The proximity to Sarlat, Domme and having all amenities within 10-15 minutes was great. We were a party of 3 ages 70, 42 and 5 and La Grenie offered comfort and enjoyment for each of us.

Even Better than Expected
Rarely does a rental property meet and exceed expectations like Lagrenie. If you are thinking to yourself, as I did, that it could not possibly be as beautiful as the pictures make it seem, then prepare to be amazed because it really is that gorgeous. Everything was exactly as promised, perfectly clean and ready for us when we arrived. The house is very well furnished and was very comfortable. The kitchen is also well provided for. There was lots of space for enjoying the beautiful views of the Dordogne valley and relaxing. There are plenty of things to do nearby if you can bear to tear yourself away from Lagrenie. We especially enjoyed visiting the beautiful towns scattered throughout the Dordogne valley. Around every turn of the road, it seemed, there was another breathtakingly beautiful sight. As others have noted, Karin is a great host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. This is really the perfect place to "get away from it all" for a very relaxing and enjoyable time with family or friends. I look forward to coming back as soon as possible!

Our stay was wonderful. The location is secluded in a peaceful area overlooking the Dordogne river and we sipped our morning coffee watching the birds circle over the treetops. Karin is a very hospitable host and the accommodations are accurately described. The property is centrally located to numerous historical sites and towns within a 30 minute drive. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing vacation.
