The house

Originally this was an old Alsatian house in Folgensbourg, near the town of Saint-Louis, Haut-Rhin in Alsace. It belonged to the Saint Roch society and it was sold to mr and mrs Sontag who wanted to turn it into a gite... in Raedersdorf, a pretty Alsatian village just south of Sundgau. The plan was to move the house. And this is how the house was dismantled, beam by beam, transported and rebuilt in the centre of the terraced garden of the family in Raedersdorf, where it stands between the kitchen garden and the flower garden. This is how the small house became gite La Pomme de Pin.
Inside you will find a equipped kitchen, a living room with dining area, sofa, TN- tv and audio set. There is a covered terrace and a garden with garden furniture, barbecue and private parking space.
There is electrical heating for your comfort, but also a wood burning stove in the living room. You can always find fire wood next to the house.
On the ground floor you will also find a bathroom and separate WC.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a double bed, the other with two singles. You will also find a WC on this floor.
In the basement there is a third bedroom with two singles and a second bathroom with washing machine and WC.
A baby cot, high chair and small folding bed are available for the little ones.

The house is surrounded by a flower garden and a vegetable garden. The garden is well maintained throughout the year by the owner.
A botanical trail starts directly from the house and after 100m, you can walk in the forest.
Starting from Raedersdorf, you can enjoy beautiful walks along the valley of Sundgau. Basel in Switzerland is half an hours drive. There are shops and museums or you can walk around. Germany is also 30 minutes away, it can be reached by car and also via the new bridge across the Rhine. The Jura is only a few kilometres away.
Alsace vineyards, beautiful authentic villages, Colmar and surroundings can easily be reached. A stay at Pomme de Pin offers many possibilities, something for everyone.

Restaurants, food & wine

You can enjoy Alsace cuisine in the many restaurants in the area: Beckeoffa (Alsatian stew), flambé tarts and the famous carp and chips. Sundgau even has a "routes des carpes frites" which leads you to all the restaurants which have it on the menu.
Alsace wine domaines can be explored by bicycle, but there are also pretty wine routes for those who prefer their car. You can sample Gewurtztraminer, Riesling, Muscat, Tockay Pinot Gris and the famous. Crémant d'Alsace
On Saturdays there is a market in Saint Louis (20 min), in Lörrach in Germany (30 min), and on Thursday in Altkirch (20 min).

You don't even need to get into your car to go out for a walk: the area around the village is beautiful.
