The gites are situated in 3000 m2 of woodland, on 1 km from Orgnac l’Aven with a wonderful view on the Cévennes and are ideally situated for a visit to the Provence, the Camargue and the Cévennes. Because of the world famous caves Orgnac l’Aven is a ’Grand site de France’. Enjoy the lavender and the vineyard in the near surroundings. Orgnac is situated between the two rivers the Ardèche and the Cèze, that flow between wonderful rough ’gorges’ (canyons), with many sandy beaches where you can swim and relax.
And there are the local markets, worth a visit.

Interior

Comfortable studio of 40m2, with 1 double bed of 2 x 80 x 200cm and bunk beds of 80 x 200 cm. spacious shower room, toilet and wash basin. Living room with kitchen corner and large dining table. Bed linen is available on request in advance. Internet/adsl via ethernetmodem (no Wi-Fi/live box).

Activities

Canoeing and kayak on the rivers Ardèche and Cèze. Swimming in the Ardèche and Cèze, and in the swimming pool in Orgnac. Tennis, riding, walking, cycling, pétanque, volley ball and midget golf. The caves of Orgnac are classified as a Grand Site de France. This means they are listed on the French Heritage as one of the most beautiful natural parks of France. Here you can discover the principles of speleology. We are at your disposal to help you organize your activities.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): climbing, swimming, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding .

Restaurants, food & wine

The Ardèche cuisine is a good mixture of the Provencal and Lyonnais kitchen, with an Auvergne’s touch. You will find menus under € 15,--. In Orgnac there are 3 restaurants and in the near surroundings you will find many others. Within a short distance from Auvergnac you can have an exquisite meal. If you wish, we can help you choose. In the many caves you can taste the regional wine: Côte du Vivarais (in Orgnac), Tavel, Châteauneuf du Pape, Côte du Rhône and Lirac.

Other remarks

There are 6 gîtes at Résidence la Cigale. Type A has 75m2 and the 4 types B have 40m2, and since May 2008 there is also type C of 60m2. The types B are identically and carefully furnished. The property is very peaceful and has a lovely garden with woodland and a covered barbecue site, a petanque court, a playground with swings, a sand pit, a seesaw, badminton, table tennis, a pool and garden furniture for you to use. We are present several days of the week to answer your questions or to help you organize your day trips and more. The renting periods are per week, with Saturday as changing day.
