the cottage is situated at the end of a countryroad in a splendid surrounding with rolling fields, forests, a lake, old manorhouses and castles. Inside and around this attractive house you will find peace and quiet, nature and lots of interesting places to visit, at only 9 km distance from the motorway Paris - Bordeaux. This old historic region is called the Poitou, known for its ”Art Roman” and has its own local wine, goat cheese, melons, and of course the Parc Futuroscope. The cottage is situated on the grounds and near the former farmbuildings of La Petite Aubue, converted into 2 charming B & B’s. Privacy is garanteed because the buildings do not face eachother. Nearby you will find shops, charming villages and tows, nature-reserves, leasure area’s for swimming and sailing, a 9 + 18 holes golfcourse and numerous other things.

this recently superbly restored old farmhouse with all modern comfort offers on the groundfloor: entrance in the living with flagstones floors and partly stone walls, kitchen-corner with dishwasher, log fire and staircase to the first floor, adjacent ”petit salon” with log fire and door to south terrace; first floor: 2 spacious bedrooms with fantastic views: room with big double bed (160 - 200), room with 3 beds (2x 080-200 and 1x 090-200), well equiped bathroom with shower, double basins, towel dryer and washing machine.

Activities

because of its ideal situation you can start your walks and cycle rides as from the cottage. The golfcourse Haut Poitou you will find at 5 minutes and a little bit further on the Lac St. Cyr for swimming and sailing, at 20 min. Futuroscope, 30 min. Poitiers, 1 hour for the Loire Castles and 2 hours for the Atlantic coast at La Rochelle.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding , water sports, tennis , Hang-gliding, para-gliding.

Restaurants, food & wine

La Petite Aubue lies on the edge of a local wine area where they produce good wine; follow the ”Route des Vins” and tast some when you visit a wine chateau. In the region Poitou Charentes you will find a wide range of local products like, the goatcheese, the melons, apricots and plumbs, home made fresh cheeses, meat and game, fish, snales. Visit the markets where you can buy the ”tast of France”.

Extra service: spoil yourself and arrive in a cottage with ready made beds and supplied with bath- and kitchenlinnen (15,- per person), cleaningservice at the end (40,-). and why not hire more facilities of La Petite Aubue: the cottage, a 2nd cottage Relais du Fou and 1 or 2 B&B’s, max. 12 persons. Splendid idea for family reunions, golfholliday with friends, brainstorming, study, cultural activities, etc. Poitiers Airport (Ryan Air) at 24 km.
