This pretty detached house is nestled in the protected valley of the Dordogne, which it overlooks. The first floor accommodation ensures that the panoramic views of the lush valley and forested hills are maximised. Located in the beautiful village of Brivezac it is just 6km from the bustling medieval market towns of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and 20km from picturesque Argentat. The house is located off a narrow access track outside the village and has a secluded garden and veranda.

Interior
Reached by outside steps, the accommodation is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Both the living room and double bedroom have magnificent views across the valley. There is a shower room, separate WC and kitchen which is equipped with combination microwave oven, hob and fridge-freezer. On the ground floor is a large garage with washing machine. All rooms are centrally heated. Outside is a lawned private garden with barbeque and garden furniture.

Activities
Whatever type of holiday you are looking for, this location is ideal. Sight seers will find six of the ‘prettiest towns’ in France, such as Colonges la Rouge, Rocamadour, Salers and Turenne, are within easy access, or just savour the delights of the beautiful countryside and river gorges. Other local visits include caves, botanical gardens, pretty chateaux and vineyards. There are numerous markets locally where you can enjoy the bustle and culinary experiences of fresh, home grown produce with the aromas of spices, freshly baked bread, sizzling crepes and cheeses to die for. There are a variety of sports activities locally: canoeing and fishing on the Dordogne, walks, horse riding, swimming in the river or nearby open air pool and cycling. Lovers of wildlife need go no further than the veranda to see kingfishers, woodpeckers, kites, buzzards, eagles and deer and wild boar occasionally emerge from the forest.
In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, riding , water sports, Hang-gliding, para-gliding.
Restaurants, food & wine
Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is the nearest town and has all the facilities that are needed on a holiday: banks, supermarkets, tourist information, shops, markets and numerous excellent restaurants ranging in price. Wander around the ancient quarter to see the magnificent church, narrow cobbled streets and pretty waterfront properties.
Other remarks
The sleepy village of Brivezac has a post office, bar and frequent van deliveries of bread, meat and fish. The only sounds to disturb your peace will be from the church bells, the distant chatter from the boules pitch and the resident cockerel hailing the dawn.
