La Roseraie will welcome you in its own large enclosed Anglo/French style rose-filled garden, just below the vineyards and alongside a stream on the edge of the hamlet of Vrigny. The world-famous Chateau of Chenonceau is 4 km distant. Parking in private courtyard.

Swimming, riding and tennis are available in the attractive market town of Montrichard, 5 km away, with its picturesque donjon featuring an historical pageant during the summer. La Roseraie is in the heart of the Loire Chateaux country, with Amboise, Chenonceaux, Blois and Loches within easy reach. The vibrant cultural centre of Tours is 35 km distant by the new autoroute. The world famous ZooPark de Beauval is nearby. Visits are also possible to the mushroom growing caves near Montrichard, featuring 100s of kilometres of tunnels in the tufa, whence the stone was quarried to build the chateaux and picturesque towns and villages of the Loire Valley. In summer the Donjon in Montrichard is the setting of son et lumiere shows.

General description
La Roseraie de Vrigny is a traditional Touraine farmhouse in a peaceful location on the edge of the village of St. Georges-sur-Cher. It has been converted into very comfortable accommodation including a large ground floor salon/dining room (45 m2) with exposed oak beams. The two spacious bedrooms are situated on the first floor. ’Soleil’ has double bed (140 cm) en-suite shower room/wc with attractive view over the garden, the stream and the field beyond. ’Nelson’, named after the famous English admiral, has a double bed (140 cm) and single bed (90 cm) exposed beams and separate private shower room/wc. A child’s cot is available. Central heating and double-glazing throughout.
Restaurants, food & wine
Montrichard and other towns and villages in the vicinity boast several excellent restaurants; there are bustling markets in St. Georges sur Cher, Montrichard, Loches, Blere, Amboise and elsewhere. There are several wine-growers in the commune producing excellent Touraine wine, and wine-tasting is very much a feature of holidays in the region, with the prestigious Vouvray and Montlouis appellations in the vicinity.

’Soleil’ as its name suggests, is an airy, sunny room with en-suite shower room, double bed (140 cm) with traditional French ’tete-de-lit’ and wicker arm-chairs. There is an extensive view from the picture window over the shady garden, the stream and the field beyond.

Interior
’Nelson’ is a cool, light and airy room, with exposed beams and fitted wardrobe, double bed (140 cm) and single bed (90 cm) and space for an extra folding bed or a child's cot if required. The room is decorated with memorabilia of Admiral Lord Nelson with whom Sir John Franklin, an ancestor of the owner, fought at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 when serving as a midshipman in HMS Bellerophon. 'Nelson' has its own private shower-room (not shared) with WC and washbasin on the other side of the corridor.
