The gîte is situated in a rural area between Cosne-sur Loire and Sancerre. The canal is about 50m from the house
and offers some pleasant walks and a cycle path ( La Loire à velo). 2km away you can find some small quiet
beaches on the edge of the Loire River, which runs through the picturesque market town of Cosne-sur-Loire.
The Chateau de Buranlure , often used in period film and television productions is next door.
Sancerre, famous for its wines, is on the road to the historical town of Bourges (50km) with its cobbled streets,
cathedral and shops.
The gîte has its own garden and parking area. On the other side of the property there is a snack bar serving
hot food .

Description

Interior

The gîte is self-contained with a private garden. It has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave , washing machine ,
iron and oven. The bathroom has a shower , washbasin and toilet. The living room has its own TV and DVD player,
'Wireless' internet connection and open-fireplace.
Upstairs there 3 bedrooms ; one with a double bed, one with two singles and one with bunk beds,
( Bed linen can be supplied). In the garden, you have the use of table and chairs, BBQ and a swimming pool.

Restaurants, food & wine

Enjoy the many restaurants in Cosne-sur-Loire and Sancerre .
Visit the numerous vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire (Pouilly fumé) as
well as one of the many producers of goat's cheese in the region.

On a Wednesday and Sunday morning there is a typical French market in nearby Cosne-sur-Loire
and in the Spring and Summer there are many 'brocantes'* in the surrounding villages at which to
browse and maybe find a bargin!

* a brocante is a type of car boot sale typically selling a range of quality antiques to bric-a brac.
