Le Puits maison is situated in quiet rural surroundings. There are two more houses in the hamlet both belonging to the same French family. The area is chiefly cereal farming. Being quite flat this is ideal countryside for exploring by bycycle.

Le Puits Maison is a traditional French longere type farmhouse gite with open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge on the ground floor. The kitchen comprises full gas cooker, fridge and microwave.There is satelite television and heating is by wood burning fire. There is an open plan double bedroom with double bed, cot and wardrobe space and a twin bedroom with two single beds and ample wardrobe space on the first floor. There is also a bathroom with bath/shower, wash hand basin and toilet. There is no washing machine but a service wash is available on request.
There are some antiques in the lounge/dining area including an antique French Henry 11 dining table and a non servicable Victorian gas fire. The other furniture is Ercol.
At Le Puits we also have a first floor appartment to sleep 4/6 people but is only available as a summer let. The prices are the same.

Activities
At Ploermel, about 20 minutes away, is The Lac Au Duc where golf and water sports are available. There are public swimming baths at other local towns. The area is quite flat and is ideal for walking and cycling.
Fishing is available at a private lake near Meneac. As this lake is private, no permit is required. Please state when booking that you want to go fishing so I can advise the owner.
Le Puits Maison is situated about an hours drive from the sea, an hour from the airport at Dinard and one hour 20 mins from St Malo. There are many beautiful sites to see in the surrounding area.
In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, cycling, riding , water sports.
Restaurants, food & wine
There are many restaurants in the area serving traditional French cuisine with excelent wine cellars.
Other remarks
This is possibly the best accommodation on the website, Le Puits Maison has a superb visitors book. Everyone that stays here has an enjoyable holiday. Roger and Carole, your hosts, live on the premisis and are here to help you with anything you want to know. This is the ideal environment to have a quiet holiday or you can join your hosts for a drink and a chat on the patio if you want. We are open all year and every visitor has the opertunity to dine at least once with your hosts at no extra cost. Monday night is "CURRY NIGHT". Christmas bookings include Christmas dinner.
Le Puits Maison boasts many prizes for the hanging baskets and floral displays over the past years. This is the reason why we do not allow ball games in the grounds but there is a park with swings and ample space for ball games only 4km away in Ménéac village.
We have two pet sheep called Cagney and Lacey who occupy the paddock behing the gite. With a little encouragement they will take your stale bread from your hand. We do allow you to bring your pets but with strict control. You can excercise them outside the grounds without problem. We have a Border Collie called Meg who loves to be fussed and she loves children. There are chickens and of course Molly the cat. An added attraction to any tropical fish lovers is Godfrey. He is a Giant Gourami of some 60cm, quite a specimen.
You may well see the traction engine chuffing arround, you are welcome to a ride, more experienced enthusiasts may even drive her. She is called Meg also and is a 4" scale model of a Savage Little Samson traction engine, a very powerful model. In the garage, under construction is a 71/4" gauge Adams class 415 "radial" 4-4-2 tank locomotive.
Day ticket fishing is available at a private lake in Meneac. This is a private lake and no permit is required. Please advise when booking that you would like to go fishing so I can advise the owner.
Roger is a model engineer and has a large scale model traction engine which will soon be working in the garden, there is a photo on my album. The latest project is a 71/4" gauge Adams Radial locomotive which is in its early stages of build. Guests are welcome to view the workshop, so are the children but with their parents for safety reasons.

The prices indicated include bed linen, towels, gas and electricity. If needed firewood is available at a nominal price.
We do not add a cleaning charge as we expect our holidaymakers to leave the gite as clean as they would wish to find it.
We need a booking deposit of 25% at the time of booking, the ballance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival. In the case of late bookings you can pay on arrival. In all cases we require a security cheque refundable on departure of 100€. If you wish us to clean after you depart a fee of 60€ will be taken from the security cheque.
For people who may arrive in the evening we can offer an evening meal at reasonable extra cost if required.
