Gite La Rosa is situated in a private setting, just behind the Maison du Jardin, on a property of 96 hectares wooland and meadows. On the property there are endless walking trails, that lead to some interesting sites in the area, like the prehistoric megaliths in Saint Just.
On the property there is a small lake, there are rocks to climb on, and wild flora to admire. The garden and the kitchen garden are being landscaped. The enclosed pool is heated from april to september and has a shower, toilet, a barbecue and a fridge. In the garden you will find deer, wild boar, butterflies, lizards, birds, bats and owls.
In the autumn there are mushrooms to pick, and in the winter, you can relax near the open fire after a lovely walk, when you're lucky, in the snow.

Description

Interior

The spacious entrance leads you to the kitchen with lounge/dining room on the right which has a wonderful view on woodland and meadows. The large glass doors open up to the meadow, where you can sit and relax, have breakfast, have a barbecue meal, and so on.
The lounge has an open fireplace (wood is for free), as well as a tv-dvd and cd-player.
There is a comfortable 3-seater sofa, and 3 armchairs.
The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, oven and fridge. There is a deepfreezer in the utility room. There is also a microwave oven, a coffee machine, kettle, and so on.
Left of the hallway you ill find the utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Also left is the spacious bathroom with 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 wash basins.
The first floor has 2 bedrooms, of which one has a double bed, a sofa and an armchair. In the other bedroom there are 4 single beds, a settee with sofa, armchair and coffee table.
A cot and a high chair are at your disposal on request. There are toys and games for all children, from 9 to 90 years old. The garden at the pront of the house is private and facing south, and has an outside table with chairs and a parasol.

Activities

On the property there is a swimming pool, a trampoline and a swing. The region offers lovely bicycle tours, walks, and a trips to the historic villages like La Gacilly (famous for Yves Rocher) and the many artisan shops. The museum village Rocheford en Terre, la Roche Bernard, Vannes, and of course the Brittany coast with its lovely beaches, many lovely villages amongst whicht the luxury bath town La Baule.
For antique lovers there are many brocante shops, for water sport lovers there are boats and canoes for rent, you wil find luxury shops and museums in the capital Rennes, or in Nantes. Both of those cities have airports.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): climbing, swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding , water sports.

Restaurants, food & wine

There are several fine restaurants in the region, like Moulin de Via, and Edouard Set, La Grée les Landes. You will also find creperies. Whether you like the french cuisine or the Brittanny cuisine, there is something for every taste. We keep a list of places we recommend in the gite.

Other remarks

Our gite La Rosa can be rented together with the ’Rez de Jardin’ of the chateau. This sleeps 16.
