Just 5 km from exit 27 (Tournus) of the Route du Soleil, you will find our charming 18th century wine farm with its vineyard and gite. The gite is situated in a cul de sac on top of a hill with the Burgundy vineyards at the back and a wonderful front view of the Saône valley / Jura and the distant Mt. Blanc!.

The area is ideal for horse-riding, walking, cycling and motorbike tours. Wine and nature lovers will also be in their element here.

Cultural markets and events, as well as fishing and boat trips can be found in the immediate surroundings.

Description

Interior

The "Tulp" gite is part of La Montagne, an old wine farm from the 18th century. We rent out Tulp as a holiday home to guests of the L'Abri-france project, but mostly to guests of La Montagne in the summer. The gite has a private entrance at the rear with a private terrace, next to which you can park your car. At the front of the gite is a balcony where you can have breakfast in the morning sun while enjoying beautiful views of the distant Mt. Blanc. The cottage is also suitable for rental in winter, because it has central heating and a woodstove.

You can enter the kitchen through the typical French entrance. The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob, a coffee maker, coffee machine, fridge, oven, microwave, toaster etc. It has access to the living room, where there is a 2 seater sofa bed, a 1 seater chair bed and a beautiful fireplace. The lounge opens onto the balcony and the bedroom, which is equipped with a bunk bed. This bedroom and the lounge both overlook our meadow with horses, and the terrace of La Montagne offers stunning views. From the kitchen there is access to the bathroom with toilet and bath / shower and a bedroom with twin beds. A cot can also be placed in this room. WiFi, a washing machine, clothes line, dishwasher and dryer are available for tenants of the cottage.

Activities

On our land there is a go-kart, some small scooters, a trampoline, swings and a pool at your disposal. The children usually enjoy our animals very much: horses, ponies, goats, chickens, dogs (Labradors) and cats. Your own horse or pony can also stay with us.

The region has a varied range of hills, valleys, meadows, forests, rivers, ancient quarries, caves, rocks and lakes with winding lanes, which makes La Montagne an ideal place for cyclists and mountain bikers.

You can also visit the old castles, monasteries, villages and towns of Tournus, Chalon sur Saône, Mâcon and Cluny. In season, there is always a brocante or a nice flea market somewhere in the area. The weekly market on Monday morning in Louhans with its local products should not be missed !

In the immediate vicinity, there are opportunities for swimming and fishing, and pedal boats, canoes and bicycles are for rent. Caves, a climbing forest, a golf course, and an avial club can be found within a 20 kilometre radius.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): climbing, swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding , water sports, Hang-gliding, para-gliding.

Restaurants, food & wine

You are in the heart of Burgundy: the ultimate culinary and vineyard region
On request, we offer a 3-course dinner four days a week, with coffee and tea afterwards. We have had experience in cooking for people with food allergies. Because we live next to the cottage, we can make breakfast or a barbecue for you on the terrace of La Montagne. A table d'hotes is also possible. Please ask for possibilities.

For "eating out": 2 km away in Tournus there is a wide range of restaurants, with every price range.

If you would like to visit one of the vineyards, there are several Burgundy Wine regions within driving distance : Beaune, Macon, Chardonnay, Beaujolais, etc.

Other remarks

Cottage Tulp can be rented in combination with one or more rooms at La Montagne. It is also possible to place caravans and tents on the property, so large groups of people are welcome.
It is possible to bring your dog or your own horse, but please make sure to contact us in advance. Pets are not allowed inside, but we have a dog kennel available. We have a large barn available for your horse or pony and a part of the pasture at their disposal.

Bedding and kitchen linen (2 towels, 2 dish towels and two tea towels, a scouring pad) are available for up to 4 people within the standard rates.

Expansion can be made for up to 14 people!
You can also rent the cottage in combination with one or more rooms of La Montagne Chambres d'Hôtes. This allows families to receive up to 14 people. In this case, additional refrigeration and cooking facilities are available in the basement. In these situations, we make you a personal offer.

Weekend: 3 nights (Fri. 15:00 /Mon. 10:00) in the mid- and season for € 175.00
