The property is a freestanding farmhouse in 2+ hectaires of gardens and unspoilt landscape offering unobstructed views of surrounding countryside. Acces is via a quiet, paved countylane. There is adequate parking within the property. The house is situated on the outskirts of a small village. The center of the village is 2 minutes walking distance. In the village there is a baker, a convenience store and a bar/restaurant. It is very quiet and peaceful.

Interior

Since 2011 we have remodelled and improved the accomodation by adding 2 bedrooms, a 2nd bathroom and an extensive kitchen/dining room. Downstairs there is an entry hall with guest WC, a large kitchen/dining room and a sitting room. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms , one with an en-suite bathroom and a 2nd separate bathroom. The renovation has maintained all the original features of the 17th century building (oak beams,antique tiled floorings and brickwork) while equipping it with all modern comforts. The decoration and furniture enhance the burgundy/ country feeling..The kitchen is fully equiped with new appliances.

The total living space is approximately 130m2 and the furnishings and decoration provide a warm, cosy and comfortable feel.

In the garden we have added an in ground swimming pool.

Activities

The area has a multitude of both cultural activities and physical pursuits. Pagentary (son et lumiere show) at nearby chateau. Pottery museum and chateau at 4km. Many pottery shops with artisans selling their creations. Rebuilding project of medieval castle using traditional methods. 18 hole golf within 20 minutes. Adventure park with treetop paths and an animal reserve. Swimming and boating on local lake. Tennis courts closeby. River and lake fishing. Poney and horseriding. Nature hiking trails and cycling. The Loire river flows nearby with boat trips and canooing available.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, cycling, riding .

Restaurants, food & wine

For those who love food and drink the area offers superb choices. World-reknowned wines from Pouilly and Sancerre are available from local producers closeby. The largest openair market in Burgundy is 15 minutes distant. Restaurants range from simple homely bistrots and pizzerias though michelin starred establishments. Fresh fruit, vegetable, fish and poultry are available at weekly local market. Full range quality supermarket 7 days/week, pharmacy and medical support at 4k.

Additional information prices and seasons

To the weekly prices the following should be added
-- electricity and water: 3.00 euro per day per person
-- bed linen and towels: 10 euros per person for bed linen, towels and their weekly laundering
-- end of stay cleaning: 50 euros

A deposit of 30% of the weekly rate at time of booking.
