Eighteenth century restored farmhouse near friendly English and French speaking owners in large wooded and well maintained grounds. The gite has a private garden with paved terrace, outdoor table tennis table, bar-b-que and garden furniture.

Description

Interior

The property is a two storey, 250 year old restored farmhouse. The ground floor has a reception room/lounge with fireplace, an entrance hall, dining room, laundry room, separate lavatory and hand wash basin, kitchen.

The first floor is accessed by two narrow stair cases. The master bedroom has a double bed and space for a baby's cot. The en-suite bathroom has bath, wash basin and lavatory. The middle room has two single width bunk beds and en-suite hand washing facility. The third bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. Built-in wardrobe and access to wash-basin and bidet.

Available: Dishwasher, Washing machine, Dryer, Iron, Cot, High chair, TV, Bath, Fireplace.

15k to beaches at Deauville/Trouville, Villers-sur-Mer, Houlgate, Cabourg.
Olympic size, heated, sea water, public swimming pool at Deauville. Fresh water pool at Trouville.
Casinos, Horse racing and trots.
Golf courses at St Arnoult, Deauville New Golf; Deauville St Gatien; L' Amiraute; St. Julien-sur-Calonne (Pont L'Eveque); Houlgate; Cabourg; Cabourg Le Home; and others within 90 minutes drive.
D-Day disembarkation beaches.
Sight seeing, Honfleur historic and picturesque harbour village is 20 kilometres,William the Conqueror's castles at Falaise and at Caen; Heritage villages at Beaumont-en-Auge and Beuvron-en-Auge are nearby; Historic sights, chateaux and abbeys, Bayeux tapestry and cathedral. WWII museums.
Horse riding is available from stables just minutes away by car.
Paris, Rouen, Mont St Michel and Monet's garden at Giverny are ideal day trips.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, cycling, riding .

Restaurants, food & wine

This is Calvados! Restaurants abound in the local towns of Deauville, Trouville, Houlgate, Cabourg, Dives-sur-Mer, Villers-sur-Mer and Pont L'Eveque. Other restaurants are available in the surrounding villages.Daily French produce markets are within easy driving distance in different towns and villages.
Regional cheeses include Pont L' Eveque, Livarot and Camembert. A well known Pont L' Eveque producer is only 2 kilometers.
The region is famous for its Cider and Calvados production.
Local restaurants range from traditional French cuisine through sea-food specialists to international cuisine.

This gite has been a holiday let since 1999 with many returning clients.

Low season: € 390,00 per week
Mid season: € 490,00 per week
High season : € 590,00 per week

Additional information prices and seasons

Two weeks Low season 650 Euros, Mid season 900 Euros, High season 1090 Euros.
Longer stays will be quoted upon enquiry.

Low Season from 8 January to 31 March and 1 November to 16 December 2011.
Mid Season from 1 April to 30 June and 11 September to 31 October 2011.
High Season 1 July to 10 september and 17 December to 7 January 2012.

NB : Changeover day is usually Saturday or Monday. Arrival after 16h00 and depart before 10h00.

Other days possible by arrangement in advance depending on availability.

Final day cleaning is available for 40,00 Euros per stay. Bedding hire is charged at 12 Euros per double bed and 10 Euros per single bed.

A refundable security deposit of 150 Euros is payable in cash on arrival. The deposit is refunded on the morning of departure in exchange for the electronic gate 'beeper' and door keys.

Weekends and short stays from 280 Euros. For short stays only cleaning and bedding are included. Towels on option. Winter heating is included for both long and short stays.
