The area is also known as French Tuscany. The estate is located on a 60 meter high hill in the middle of a valley and is surrounded by 30 acres of land. From here you have views of surrounding hills, fields, forests and here and there a house. From the estate you have access to several hiking trails: old rue rurales, which are now restored. Interior

Fully renovated apartment in the old laundry building of the manor. The building has 2 floors of 35 m2.
The bright bedroom / bathroom is on the first floor, overlooking the courtyard.
On the ground floor there is a small kitchen unit with sink, small cooker and fridge, a fireplace, dining area and the general entrance to the wine cellar. Both floors were completely renovated in 2008 preserving the historical details. Bedding and linen are provided. The price includes cleaning on Saturday morning and VAT. The swimming pool (6x12m) is located in a restored ruin, with lavender and cypresses in the garden and a large covered terrace of 50m2. The estate is surrounded by 30 acres of private land, to which you have free access, with acces to various hiking routes. The house is surrounded by lawn with several seating areas , from where you can enjoy the beautiful view.

Activities

Beautiful area for biking and hiking. There are boat rental possibilities to go boating on the river Lot.
Weekly markets in the area.A horse riding trail can be organised when there are enough experienced riders interested.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding , water sports.

Restaurants, food & wine

The fine cuisine of this region is well known, every village has a good restaurant.

Other remarks

Beaujoly is an estate dating from the 14 century. It is listed on the first maps by Cassini. In 1771, seignor Beaumont the Beaujoly enlarged it to its present form. The manor is a place for space and tranquility, but also gives you the opportunity to meet other guests. The owners are Dutch / German and also speak French and English.
The buanderie is the name of the former laundry house and it is located next to to the manor house. Entrance and windows are facing the stately courtyard. In the adjacent annex, the long wing, there are 4 beautiful rooms / bathrooms with a bright common room and an adjacent terrace.
Several airlines fly to Bergerac. The airport is 60 kms from Beaujoly.
