Les copains is set on a hillside from where you have a stunning view on the Dordogne valley and on the village across the valley. On 3 kms there is a large supermarket. Two villages (le Buisson de Cadouin and Siorac) with all the amenities are at a short distance. The area offers a lot of interesting sites and sportive possibilities. Alongside the Dordogne River there are several beaches and canoeing. The Perigord Noir is known as the area with the most touristic attractions. Don't miss the vibrant local markets!

Description

Interior

Les Copains is a comfortable and cozy well equipped gite, with a wood burning stove set in the large original fireplace. There are electric radiators in every room. The thick walls keep the house fresh in the summer, and warm in the winter. There are 2 terraces. Around the house there are several settees in the sun and in the shade, with garden furniture, deckchairs and a barbecue.
There are TV+DVD,Radio+cdplayer, Wireless internet, telephone, lot of information.
The kitchen has a fridge, an electric cooker with oven, a micro wave and a Senseo coffee machine. In the utility room there is a washing machine and a dish washer. The shower room has a toilet, was basin and shower. One of the 2 bedrooms has a wash basin.
Two bicycles are at your disposal.

Activities

The area offers many opportunities to make walks, go cycling, make tours by car, go canoeing, and enjoy the wildlife: the fish, the various birds, the flora and the butterflies. Visit the castles, prehistoric sites, the caves and the medieval towns like Sarlat (30 min by car). If you like drawing and painting, the subjects are endless. There is golf (18 holes golf course at short distance) and tennis. But if you'd rather stay home and relax, just sit down and enjoy the lovely surroundings. In the gite you will find lots of books, games, CDs, films and information about the area.

In the neighbourhood (max 30 minutes by car): swimming, golf, walking, mountain-biking, cycling, riding , water sports, Hang-gliding, para-gliding.

Restaurants, food & wine

The area offers a lot of opportunities to have a meal in one of the lovely local restaurants, or buy the specialties of the area, like duck, walnuts and mushrooms. The local wines are also lovely to take home: the Pécharmant, the Bergerac and the Cahors.

Other remarks

The gite can be rented per week - changeover day is Saturday. In the low season it is possible to rent for more than a week, for instance 10 days.
Cleaning is 38,00 Euros. For pets € 25,-- per week..
Use of the telephone is possible - the invoice will be made up after your stay.
From January till mid-May and from October until end of December we charge a 30 Euros supplement for heating per week.
